SALVATION
Mankind's
greatest need is salvation, which is obtained by grace
through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
No one may earn entrance into Heaven by doing good works,
regardless of the nature of such works; Jesus Christ is the
sinner's substitute; He took our sins in His own
body, and gave us His righteousness. John 10:9; Romans 10:9-10; Romans
5:18-19; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians2:8-9; 1 Peter
2:23-24.
JESUS
CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD
The
Lord Jesus Christ is God the Son, equal with God in every
aspect though he humbled Himself for a short time and took
upon Himself the form of a servant and was made in the
likeness of man. He is sinless, holy, and undefiled in all
His ways, and by Himself purchased our salvation by the
shedding of His blood on the cross of Golgotha
(Calvary). He is not a created being, but is in fact the
Creator, the Living Word of God.
John
1:1; John 1:14; Philippians 2:5-11;
Colossians 1:12-20; 1Peter 1:18-19.
HOLY
SPIRIT
The
Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost is God the Spirit sent forth into
the world to convict men of sin, righteousness, and judgment
and bring them to faith in Christ. John
16:7-13.
ETERNAL
SALVATION
A
saved person is eternally secure in Christ. The Holy Spirit
indwells and seals the believer and places him in the body
of Christ at the moment of salvation. Not only has the
believer received Christ, but Christ has also received him.
The evidence that someone is saved and full of the Holy
Spirit is submission to the the word of God and the fruit of
the Spirit being observed in his life. Galatians
5:21-22, Ephesians 1:13-14.
ETERNAL
JUDGMENT
(All
people must stand before God in Judgment. The lost soul will
be judged in Hell and subsequently in a literal lake of fire
and brimstone following his appearance before God's Great
White Throne; the saved are present with the Lord in Heaven
after death, and will stand before the judgment seat of
Christ to receive either rewards or rebukes for the things
done in the body while on earth. 2
Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:14-15.
